Pickles


After a while, the whey will drip through the cheesecloth. Use about 1/4 cup of whey for a quart of pickles.

Transformation is my favorite thing ever. OK, maybe not always in the moment when everything is going to shit, but after it settles and life has become something entirely new and different and better, then I really love it. Today I'm in the kitchen making pickles.


Fermenting foods is a hands-on reminder to me of how sometimes something has to basically rot - but in a special and intentional way - to become something else.


I'm very much in the brine right now in my own life. You?
